What are you not getting about the church of Christ being the original New Testament church? Isn’t the New Testament church called the church of Christ (Rom. 16:16)? Yes, it is! Why is it so difficult for some to accept the notion that the original New Testament church founded by Jesus, through His apostles, on the day of Pentecost, AD 30, is still in existence today? Doesn’t the Bible say that once Jesus established His kingdom (Matt. 16:18-19), it would never be destroyed (Dan. 2:44; 7:14; Luke 1:32-33)? So, what are you not getting about the church of Christ being that original New Testament church? Either the church that Jesus built still exists today or it does not. If it does not then every biblical prophet that spoke of the everlasting kingdom of the Messiah was a false prophet. If it does then which church is it? Wouldn’t it be the one that is still functioning as the one described in the New Testament? What’s so hard to understand about that?
